  1. v0.2.251 July 14, 2026 Latest

A walkthrough that builds a real SOP with you

The in-app walkthrough has been rebuilt around an actual job, so you finish it with a finished SOP rather than a tour.

    • The walkthrough now starts in your library — where you actually work — and takes you through creating your first SOP from beginning to end.
    • It follows a real IT example, creating an Azure virtual machine, so every step you take is one you would take on a real task.
    • It carries on past the first SOP: exporting your finished document, and chaining SOPs together into a Process you can hand to someone.
    • Clearer capture-session review — your screenshots stay sharp when you review them, even on long sessions with many steps.
  2. v0.2.249 July 12, 2026

Processes — turn your SOPs into start-to-finish procedures

Group related SOPs into a single process and hand someone one document to work through.

    • Build a process from your SOPs — line them up in the order they happen and add your own plain-text steps in between.
    • Export the whole process as a fillable sign-off sheet, with room to record who did each step, the date, and their initials — as a Word document, a web page, or a fillable PDF.
    • Or export the complete booklet: the sign-off sheet followed by every SOP in the process, all in one document — and in the language you choose.
    • Processes live in your library alongside your SOPs, with their own card, filter, and search, and open into a clean read-and-run view.
    • Smaller touches: the "New SOP" button now reads as a clear green sibling of "New Process," and the folder list in the Add-SOPs picker shows how many SOPs are in each folder and its subfolders.
  3. v0.2.230 July 3, 2026

    Interface updates

    • Small refinements to the capture screen layout.
  4. v0.2.229 July 3, 2026

    Build SOPs without AI

    • A new Manual option turns your captured screenshots and notes straight into a finished SOP — no AI, no cost — whether you're creating a new SOP or adding to an existing one.
  5. v0.2.218 July 1, 2026

Smoother updates and restarts on Windows

Two Windows improvements that make Notavi quieter and more dependable.

    • Smoother updates on Windows — updates now install quietly and keep your existing settings and location, with no setup steps to repeat.
    • More reliable restarts on Windows — Notavi now shuts down cleanly so it always reopens right away.

  1. v0.2.217 July 1, 2026

Redaction you can trust, and dark-mode polish

Two small refinements to redaction and the Duplicates screen.

    • Redaction you can trust — blurred areas now stay in place when you re-open a screenshot to review it before submitting, and clearing a blur fully removes it.
    • Dark mode polish — clearer, more readable controls on the Duplicates screen.
  2. v0.2.216 June 30, 2026

    More reliable saving

A dependability improvement for how Notavi saves your work, especially when your documents live in a cloud-synced folder.

    • Notavi now clearly tells you if a document can't be saved — for example when it's in a read-only or still-syncing cloud folder — and always keeps your changes so nothing is lost.
    • When a save is temporarily blocked, the status shows "Couldn't save" instead of a false "Saved," so you always know the real state of your work.
    • Leaving or switching between SOPs never discards unsaved edits — your changes stay put until they're safely written.
  3. v0.2.215 June 29, 2026

Smoother duplicate review, a tidier library, and quieter housekeeping

This update bundles a round of polish from everyday use, plus some behind-the-scenes cleanup.

    • Duplicate review is clearer — the similarity setting you pick while exploring now carries straight into a side-by-side review, so the pair you clicked is right there, and the review buttons (merge, cross-reference, keep separate) line up consistently where you expect them.
    • A tidier library — cleaner select-mode controls, a main button that now clearly reads "Create New SOP," and Upload and Note buttons that are easy to read in dark mode.
    • Friendlier fresh-install defaults — new installs start with sensible settings out of the box, and anything you've already set is left untouched.
    • Notavi cleans up after itself better — no more stray temporary files in your library folder, and deleting an SOP now fully clears its leftover records, so you won't see broken links to documents you've removed.
  4. v0.2.212 June 29, 2026

Explore your library for possible duplicates — at any sensitivity

The duplicates page now has a similarity slider across the top. Slide it to decide how closely two guides have to match before they show up as possible duplicates — lower it to surface more loosely-related pairs, raise it to see only the very closest matches. The list updates instantly as you slide.

    • A "Show matches above" slider, front-and-center on the duplicates page.
    • The list updates live as you drag — explore at whatever closeness you like.
    • Purely for exploring — your duplicate flags and counts elsewhere stay exactly as they were.
    • Follows whichever scope you've picked, the current folder or your whole library.
  5. v0.2.211 June 29, 2026

More reliable cloud-synced and multi-device libraries

This update makes Notavi more dependable when your library lives in a shared cloud folder (Proton Drive, OneDrive, iCloud, Dropbox) or is used across more than one computer.

    • Smarter, more patient startup — when Notavi tidies its own behind-the-scenes data, it now waits until your library is fully synced and in place on that machine before finishing up, so nothing happens out of order, even on a computer that hasn't been opened in a while.
    • Rock-solid across multiple devices — your guides, versions, and history stay exactly where you expect.
    • Quietly does its one-time housekeeping once and stays out of the way.
    • Your guides and their full history are always preserved.
  6. v0.2.209 June 28, 2026

Notavi 2.0 — Smarter, tidier documentation

Notavi now spots duplicate guides for you, helps you merge the ones that belong together, and makes everything easier to find — all privately on your own computer.

    • Spot duplicate guides automatically, right on your device — when a new guide looks like one you've already written, Notavi quietly flags it so your library stays clean instead of filling up with near-identical copies. It all happens privately on your own computer; nothing about your documents leaves your machine to make it work.
    • Merge, review, and untangle with confidence — review possible duplicates side by side, merge the ones that belong together, and, new in this release, pull any merged guide back out later, in any order, if you change your mind. Nothing is ever locked in.
    • Find things faster — search now reaches through every folder and sub-folder at once, and the library shows you a folder and everything inside it in a single view.
    • Clearer version history — merged and revised guides now read clearly in their history, so you can always see how a document got to where it is.
    • Duplicate detection is included with Lite and Pro. Existing installs update automatically.
  7. v0.2.184 June 27, 2026

Notavi 2.0 — version history, a faster library, and worry-free moves

Our biggest update yet. Notavi 2.0 brings full version control to your guides, a redesigned library, and the freedom to organize and move your work without ever losing a thing.

    • Full version history for every guide — make changes with confidence, see what changed and when, name your versions, and roll back to an earlier one anytime.
    • A redesigned library that's yours to organize — group guides into folders, search and filter to find anything fast, and stay smooth even with large, cloud-synced collections.
    • Move or combine libraries freely — point Notavi at a new folder, or bring two libraries together, and every guide keeps its complete history, safe and intact.
    • A reworked editor and preview that make revising and reviewing your guides clearer and quicker.
    • Flexible export — share a single guide, choose how it looks, and export exactly the version you're viewing.
  8. v0.1.113 June 20, 2026

Your guides, saved where you can find them

    • Your guides now save to a Notavi folder in your Documents by default — easy to find, and safe to keep even if you uninstall the app.
  9. v0.1.111 June 18, 2026

    Double-click to open

    • Double-click to open — your .notavi files now open straight in Notavi from Finder or Explorer.
  10. v0.1.110 June 18, 2026

    Smoother on large libraries

    • Smoother on large libraries — big and cloud-synced libraries now load and scroll without hitching, plus under-the-hood security and reliability improvements.
  11. v0.1.108 June 16, 2026

    Interface polish

    • Interface polish — a small visual refinement to the Windows layout.
  12. v0.1.107 June 15, 2026

Cloud SOPs on demand, library merge, and a cleaner workspace

    • Open cloud-stored SOPs from any device — if a SOP is in your cloud folder but not downloaded yet, Notavi now pulls it down the moment you open it.
    • Merge libraries — point Notavi at a folder that already holds SOPs and bring your existing library together with it.
    • Cleaner SOP names and smarter sorting, so your library stays tidy and orders by what you've worked on most recently.
    • A slimmer, cleaner workspace.
    • A clearer view of your usage, with simpler Light and Pro plans.
  13. v0.1.96 June 10, 2026

    Capture improvements

More accurate framing when capturing menus, widgets, and small interface elements.

  14. v0.1.94 June 8, 2026

Multi-monitor setups now capture cleanly and accurately.

  15. v0.1.92 June 5, 2026

    Workflow improvements

Small refinements to streamline how you work.

  16. v0.1.91 June 4, 2026

  17. v0.1.90 June 4, 2026

    UI updates

Minor visual refinements to the library controls.

  18. v0.1.89 June 4, 2026

  19. v0.1.87 June 3, 2026

  20. v0.1.86 June 3, 2026

    Automatic keywords.

  21. v0.1.84 June 2, 2026

    Improvements and refinements.

A round of behind-the-scenes improvements and polish.

  22. v0.1.83 June 2, 2026

A redesigned export menu and two new export layouts.

Exporting your SOPs is clearer and more flexible — pick a layout, see a preview of it, and your choices are remembered for next time.

    • Choose how your SOP is laid out: the classic Standard illustrated walkthrough, a compact Two-column layout with each instruction beside its screenshot, or a space-saving Quadrant grid that fits four steps to a page.
    • The export panel has been redesigned side by side, and each template shows a quick preview so you can see at a glance how your steps will be arranged.
    • Clearer format choices, with a distinct icon for HTML, PDF, and Word.
    • Your export settings stick around — the layout, format, and language you used last time are ready to go the next time you export.
    • A simpler step-hints setting: one switch decides whether hints are written, and a quick toggle lets you include or leave them out when you export.
  23. v0.1.80 June 1, 2026

    Word export improvements.

    • Refinements and polish to how your SOPs export to Word.
  24. v0.1.79 June 1, 2026

    Tidier SOPs, much lighter exports.

More say over what ends up in your finished documents — plus exported files that are far smaller and quicker to send.

    • Decide how step hints show up: keep them on, keep them just for yourself while leaving them out of exports, or turn them off entirely for cleaner, leaner SOPs.
    • HTML exports are now dramatically smaller — especially for SOPs written in languages other than English — so they're faster to share, quicker to email, and lighter to store.
    • A small tidy-up in Settings to keep everything easy to find.
  25. v0.1.76 May 31, 2026

Write in your language — share in any of eleven.

Document the way you naturally work, then hand the same SOP to anyone on your team in the language they read best. Notavi now works in your language and exports your procedures into ten more.

    • Create your SOPs in your own working language — set it once and Notavi writes in the language you work in.
    • Export any SOP translated into another language, so one procedure reaches your whole team, wherever they are, in the language they understand best.
    • Eleven languages at launch: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.
  26. v0.1.72 May 30, 2026

Your SOPs in your own cloud — plus folders and favorites.

This release puts you in charge of where your documents live and makes them easier to organize and keep in sync across every device you work on.

    • Keep your SOPs in your own cloud storage — point Notavi at a folder in OneDrive, iCloud, Dropbox, or Proton Drive, and your documents sync across all your devices. Notavi never hosts your files; they stay in the storage you already use.
    • Organize SOPs into folders, pin your favorite folders for one-tap access, and move documents between folders whenever you need to.
    • Changes you make outside the app — renaming or moving a file in Finder or Explorer, or edits synced from another device — show up in Notavi automatically, with a clear indicator while a file is still downloading.
  27. v0.1.61 May 27, 2026

    Minor workflow improvements.

    • Minor workflow improvements.
  28. v0.1.60 May 27, 2026

Signed Windows installer + automatic updates

    • Signed Windows installer — installs cleanly with "Notavi LLC" as the publisher.
    • Automatic updates on Windows — Notavi now keeps itself up to date on Windows too.
    • Plus general polish and reliability improvements throughout.
  29. v0.1.54 May 25, 2026

Section breaks, plus editor and export improvements

    • Section breaks — organize longer procedures into labeled sections. Add a section divider anywhere, give it a title, and move or edit it just like a step.
    • Sections carry through to your exported documents (Word, PDF, and web) as clean, titled dividers.
    • Warnings stay neatly grouped on the page in your exported documents.
    • Plus general polish and reliability improvements throughout the editor.
  30. v0.1.45 May 24, 2026

    A little behind-the-scenes polish.

No new features this time — just some quiet housekeeping to keep everything running smoothly.

    • Behind-the-scenes cleanups and refinements for a smoother, more reliable Notavi.
  31. v0.1.44 May 24, 2026

    Faster, more consistent capture.

Capture should never make you wait — this release smooths out the speed so every screenshot lands quickly.

    • Screenshot capture is now consistently fast — every capture, including the first one in a session, is quick and responsive.
  32. v0.1.43 May 24, 2026

    Reorder steps as you capture.

A little more control while you capture — get your steps into the right sequence before you ever hit submit.

    • Captured a step out of order? You can now move screenshots up or down in the capture feed before submitting, so your SOP comes out in the right sequence.
  33. v0.1.42 May 24, 2026

    Updates, one click away.

Staying on the latest version just got easier — no need to go hunting in Settings for new releases.

    • An 'Update Available' indicator now appears in the top menu when a new version is ready, so you can update in one click without opening Settings.
  34. v0.1.41 May 24, 2026

    Cleaner exports, page by page.

More polish for your exported documents — this time in how they lay out on the page when you print or share them.

    • SOP exports now fit about two steps per page, so printed and shared documents are cleaner and more compact.
    • Each step's screenshot and its instructions always stay together on the same page — never split across a page break.
  35. v0.1.40 May 23, 2026

Exports that match what you see.

This update is all about your exported documents — making sure what lands in your PDF, HTML, and Word files matches exactly what you built in the app.

    • Step screenshots now keep their exact in-app framing in PDF, HTML, and Word exports — previously they could be cropped or stretched.
    • Fixed duplicate step text that appeared in Word (.docx) exports.
  36. v0.1.39 May 23, 2026

Steadier sessions and a fresh look.

This update is about sessions starting exactly when you mean them to — with a cleaner, more polished app to match.

    • A refreshed app icon.
    • Sessions now start only when you click Start Session — the capture shortcut no longer kicks one off on its own.
    • Clearer labels on the capture-type options, so it's obvious what each mode does.
    • The empty editor view now fills the window properly.
    • A clearer support and feedback section in Settings.
    • Fixed a first-run issue where Notavi didn't relaunch correctly after you granted screen-recording permission.
  37. Launch May 22, 2026

    Notavi is here.

The first public release of Notavi — now available for macOS. From here on, every update lands on this page in plain English, focused on what you actually get, not engineer-speak.

    • Capture a session and get a clean, structured step-by-step SOP back.
    • AI-titled and annotated steps you can reorder and edit inline.
    • Export to PDF, HTML, and Doc.
    • Your captures and documents stay on your Mac — nothing leaves until you submit a session or export.
    • Built for Apple Silicon Macs (M1 or later), macOS 11 or later.

Privacy & data handling

The full data story has its own page.

Your library stays in storage you own; if you use AI, captured steps are sent to the model just to generate the writeup (never used for training). The complete policy — what we store, our sub-processors, retention, and your choices — lives on its own page.
